summer's almost over...YAY

So
it's been a summer of:

117 smelly 14 year old boys in my house
every day
and
every night

lots
and lots
and lots
of
company

a million gazillion
kids
sisters
friends
friends who are sisters
aunts
kids
sisters' kids
kids of friends who are like sisters
oldest friend from high school
who is like a sister
who was my date for
our
30th high school reunion
aack

lots
and lots
and lots
of
margaritas

lots
and lots
and lots
of
bags of ice
cuz my fridge lacks an ice maker
and margaritas need ice

lots of time swimming
I mean
skimming
the pool
shocking the pool
vacuuming the pool

on Memorial Day
I knew nothing about pools
lesson learned:

DO NOT PAY anyone to do anything
you can learn to do yourself
by checking out YouTube

seriously

anyway
summer's almost over
YAY

my feet are calloused from
working outside
my nails are broken
my legs are hairy
my eyebrows are
out of control
cuz some kid used
my tweezers
to feed crickets to
the turtle

I could not find
the dead skin heel scraper thing
I bought
to scrape my
dead heel skin
who knows what some kid used that for

so...

Ty is such a good boy

Happy Labor Day Mamas

  2. Hello, Darling Michelle! Sounds like a perfect summer!
We used to have a pool. After trying unsuccessfully to take care of it ourselves for a year, we hired Pool Guy. I loved Pool Guy with all my heart.
Ty IS such a good guy.
    Love...Mary

  5. So, are the tweezers gone, or are you saying that you won't use them on your brows because of the cricket/turtle business? If yes, really???

  7. This post makes me want to kick up my feet and heave a great, satisfied sigh.

    (I didn't believe for a second you wouldn't use cricket-tweezers.)

The picture of your callous-scraper made me bellow-out-loud. It surpassed "lol" by about 200% and frightened my dog.

  8. Well, hi there!

So happy to hear from you. And your son is learning more about kindness with that grater than anything else.

  9. It was awfully good to "see" you after all this time. I am happy that Mia's flower are blooming. Here tomatoes are ripening, we could fry eggs on the driveway and I feel totally and terminally guilty for turning the air conditioner on full blast. But I would have simply wilted in this heat. Take care of yourself, sending you a big hug.

  12. Seriously girl, we could be sisters from another mister. The whole, learning how to fix-it vibe and having teenage boys run/ruin your house plus just all the other shit. I am going off the blogosphere soon but of course I will continue to keep up with your wonderful posts, such as they were essentially my life. xoxo

  13. I have hairy legs and the feet of a neanderthal. They are hopeless. Went for a pedicure once, couldn't take the tsk tsking of the feet girls.
Have tried a drummel tool, which is only moderately useful, am eyeing the grater.....
Glad your summer was so full.
And hooray for youtube. Em wanted to knit and crochet and I didn't, I don't, I can't, but youtube taught her and she is unstoppable now.
Youtube is teaching her guitar too. Isn't is amazing?
So nice to hear from you. Hugs.

  14. So similar to my summer.

Right down to the margaritas, which I didn't know I liked until a couple months ago.

so... wadaya think?

Your fairy is called Columbine Icedancer
She is a bone chilling bringer of justice for the vulnerable.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen when the bees swarm and the crickets chirrup.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has icy blue butterfly wings.
