Good Friday

Today was a really good day

I heard this song for the first time the other day. I love it.
After the first few notes Mia said
mommy... why is this old hippie music on K104?

She has no idea how cool it is that she recognizes Suite Judy Blue Eyes

Sweet Mia Blue Eyes

We took a drive today. It's still pretty bare up here, even though the sun is warm
and we've had a lot of rain alternating with clear blue skies.
Forsythia are blooming, and some tulips are up
but the hills are still covered with bare branched trees.
As we drove along, Ty spotted one lone evergreen in the vista of brown leaflessness.

look Jack, all those trees and only one pine tree

he turns to me and solemnly says

In a world of followers, be a leader

This morning, Jack looked at me and said thanks mom

what for honey?

Well, for everything this week. For letting Andrew stay over so much. For all the fun things.
For the food i had agreed to a micky d's breakfast, and he knows how HARD that is for me
just... thanks... you're awesome

He's twelve. He should be rolling his eyes at me and begging to stay at someone else's house

  2. Michelle, I am leaving immediately for Mickey D's at your house, to break bread with you and your kids no matter what the "bread" consists of....I don't think it matters. Clearly, you have the magic to make what they eat into What They Eat. Thank you for giving them the extra hug; don't forget Ty's extra hug just for playing cello.
    Love, love.

  3. Kids are truly like mirrors, unless they are broken. In which case they reflect one and one thousand things, Yours are whole and reflect the love you give so freely to them, so yes, I am with Jack, you are awesome.

  7. I wish we were together today, all of us.
If we were, I would look into your beautiful eyes and tell you that you are doing a very good job of the hardest job there is- raising your babies. They are strong in body and they are strong in spirit and they are strong in your love.
Can you feel me telling you that?
    Love...Mary

Your fairy is called Columbine Icedancer
She is a bone chilling bringer of justice for the vulnerable.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen when the bees swarm and the crickets chirrup.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has icy blue butterfly wings.
