Reflection

It's been a week of reflection.

I haven't stepped foot in blogland. I've used the time to think and process and understand.
And feel.

It's been quiet here.
Not a bad quiet. Kind of a hmmm... maybe this is ok quiet.
A calm quiet.
Maybe a good quiet.

I don't know yet.

It's been a week of lots of deep breaths.
And lots of deep thoughts and lots of deep feelings.

It's been a week of honesty.

Love this. I've been afraid of changing cause I've built my life around you
ignore the dumb-funny ad in the beginning

I've linked to it before. It squeezes my heart.

  1. Love that header - yes, your children are gorgeous. How can you stand it?

I need to follow your lead and go into reflective mode... It's been such a week here.

  2. That song is a close to perfect as it gets.

    She is a goddess.

    As are you.

  3. I love that song, too -- and actually just posted a link to it (sung by PS22) the other day. I've missed you and am glad that you've had some time for reflection. I love your strength and close my eyes, hoping that it sustains you. I know it will. And those children -- the eyes, the eyes.

    Love and peace to you.

  4. I've missed you. I wrote about dreaming of you a few days ago. You were all in yellow and beautiful and we were walking around, arm-in-arm.
    I wish.
Have you ever heard the Dixie Chicks version of Landslide? It's my favorite.
    Love you to pieces.

  6. A hmmmm kinda quiet is perfectly okay because it does lead to those very things you describe: Deep thoughts, deep breaths, deep feeling and honesty.

Don't be afraid of changing. I'm gettin' older too.

  7. I LOVE OPENING YOUR BLOG TO THOSE BEAUTIFUL FACES. NOTHING BETTER THAN A LITTLE STEVIE NICKS TO START MY DAY. THANKS! (EXCUSE MY ALL CAPS. TYPING WITH ONE HAND WITH DAUGHTER IN THE OTHER. SHE LIKES STEVIE TOO.)

  8. Your header is love and truth and beauty.
Landslide is one of my favorite songs ever. When I am feeling out of sorts I play it on the piano and it soothes me. I always hear Stevie's raspy voice in my head.
I think this is as good a time of the year as any to reflect. I always get funky around the new year, wondering if I'm doing things right, fretting the march of time and the twists of fate. If I get feeling really strange or off kilter, I go hug my kids and things settle into place a bit at least in my heart. I bet that works somehow for you too.
Wishing you a peaceful, restful, loving Holiday.

  10. do they even know your children from halona's or mine or melanie's? strange, this follower bloggy land.

and where do we learn about each other as we stretch and grow? do you know my children, michelle? outside of the chickens coups which we have built for them?

    this is ridiculous. completely.

    i'm thinking about you.

Your fairy is called Columbine Icedancer
She is a bone chilling bringer of justice for the vulnerable.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen when the bees swarm and the crickets chirrup.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has icy blue butterfly wings.
