And what to my wondering eyes should appear...

Seems like a lot of folks had their
Best Christmas Ever.
It was certainly the best Christmas
I've had in a long time.
Might be the little blue pill likely.
Might be my healing family most definitely.
Might be my daddy who every year when asked
only wanted peace on earth for Christmas
may be sending his family peace from the flip side...

it was good
it was lovely

happy christmas kids

this was breakfast
courtesy of The Kitchen Witch
she's really smart and funny
I subbed mini chocolate chips and sour cherry preserves
for the raisins
my kids hate raisins

this is Ty having a weird-off with himself
it's a cool hologram thing
the frog is inside the disk
but looks like it's sitting on top
I guess he wanted to lick it...

two words...

we always have SO MUCH FOOD
we love to eat
and eat
and eat

roast lamb and pork shepherd's pie
get it?
shepherds, baby Jesus, farm animals
huh? huh?
get it?
my sisters are SICK of me

Santa stopped by
that was a great treat
these are the cousins who weren't freaked out
by the big man in the red suit

We had a good time. A lovely time. Lots of laughter. Very little stress and storm. Which is an amazing thing. There are A LOT of really intense personalities in our bunch. And it's been a rough year or two. Lots of falling outs, and hurt feelings. Lots of loss. But it was still really good. Despite the shitty stuff.
Somehow we all just felt good, I think.

It was a good time. A lovely time.

  1. It looks and sounds lovely!! So glad it was a great holiday!!

  2. My God! How beautiful you all are! And your home- oh Michelle- your home. I feel so comfortable there.
I am glad all went well.
    Thank-you for sharing.

  3. Oh, and I agree with Ms. Moon, you are beautiful. Stunning even and smart.

  4. Awww, how sweet of you to link that ass-busting bread pudding! Yours looks delish!

And I do hope you are getting modeling contracts for those children??

  5. I'm so glad. Everyone should have a drama-free Christmas (well, family drama, anyway). Happy New Year! :)

  6. The 'weird off' is the best. I may have to steal that phrase.

Yeah, you guys are a hot bunch, good looking I mean, gorgeous. And you have your nose pierced? Also hot.

  7. Michelle, I have not been here to read your life lately and I'VE MISSED IT.
    Your children and Beautiful. Beautiful.
I hope that one day I can eat breakfast at your table, or lunch or even just an afternoon tea. Your food always looks totally delicious - I can almost smell it through the screen.

I'm glad you had a happy Christmas. The pictures look just like the kind of Christmas memory you are suppose to make. Smiles, wrapping paper and family.

  8. Michelle,
You are so pretty and your family is just gorgeous! Glad it was a good holiday for you. You deserve it.

My nose is pierced, too. We are the COOL sisters, baby!

    Love, SB.

  9. In that photo you look really young, how old are you? Were you like eleven when you had the kids?

The food all looks so delicious. Can you come over to Missouri and bake some of that stuff for me? Bring the kids and we'll all have a blast.

  10. That does sound so lovely. And your photos look great! Thanks for stopping in at my blog and all your kind words!

  11. Gorgeous children, and mom too. I just love this.

  12. you are even more beautiful than I remember! It is neat to see Halona and Adrienne's FACES in the childrens faces...just so wild

    merry christmas!

Your fairy is called Columbine Icedancer
She is a bone chilling bringer of justice for the vulnerable.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen when the bees swarm and the crickets chirrup.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has icy blue butterfly wings.
