Sundays in My City

The Bronx Zoo

this is where we were last Sunday
the last sun day
a week of snow days

it was a beautiful day
prompting an impromptu trip

a sun day sky

1st stop
the World of Birds

you know I have a thing

bird on a branch

...light... sun...
...green... warmth...

we pretend it's summer

we're in Madagascar
lemurs sound just like they do in Dinosaur

tigers up close and personal
we never see them in the summer
it's too darn hot so they hide in the shade

apparently, they love the snow
a big beautiful cat
Mia just wanted to snuggle with her

me and my shadow

Sundays in My City
brought to you by Unknown Mami

  1. Aaah I could happily spend my days in a zoo..I love them that much:) Wonderful photos! I love our prayer flags!!

  2. The light shining through that greenhouse rooftop looks so cozy and warm. I think I just might move in.

That shadow picture warms me up too.

  3. Fantastic photos! I always LOVE trees...and animals.

  4. That tiger is just outstanding. I wonder what it thinks of its life in the city?

Beautiful photos -- thank you for posting them!

  5. The St Louis Zoo (Which is free ..well kinda, St Louis County Tax Payers pays taxes for the zoo, but it's free....sort of).....Anyway, the St. Louis Zoo has a bird house. One of the birds got out of the cage and ran Kevin and I out of the place. It puffed its feathers up really puffy, stood up tall on its legs and opened its wings and squawked at us something fierce. I remember running out of that place thinking "Where Is Security!!"

  6. Love all your pictures....especially the big cat. But the shadows are the coolest!

    Have a great week!

  7. Ohh, the zoo. I love going to the zoo in the winter! An yeah, you get to see more animals. I love tigers btw! Thanks for sharing.

  8. Ah. Thanks for sharing your day. And I love the new header.

  9. I went to the zoo this week too! It's such a fun time.

Your tiger looks much more hungry than our tiger did :-)

You header photo is fantastic! I'm glad I found your blog via Unknown Mami. I'll be back again soon.

    Have a great week,

Your fairy is called Columbine Icedancer
She is a bone chilling bringer of justice for the vulnerable.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen when the bees swarm and the crickets chirrup.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has icy blue butterfly wings.
